Master bedroom with new walls and existing woodwork back up (Closet doors new)
|
After we had finished the framework and then walls for a new living space, I sanded and finished new cabinets for the bathroom, painted ceilings and walls. We had carpet installed on the stairs from the first floor to the second floor and restored as many of the original hardwood floors on the main floor as we could.

The floors were all laid in a square or rectangular pattern which I thought was stunning, especially considering the tools they had available for them in 1910 when this house was built. My husband and some of his extended family pieced together the door frames and floorboards that we had saved to use in our new living space.

The second floor was painted and thoroughly cleaned, but we did not refinish the floors or woodwork at this point. We didn't do much to the kitchen except for purchase new appliances and paint the walls as I knew I wanted to completely overhaul the kitchen one day and wanted to do it with a bigger budget. As it was winter in the Midwest, the outside glow up had to wait for later. |

This ended up being a few YEARS later as shortly after we moved into our home, we found out we were expecting baby number two and Mom was strapped for time and energy.
